That's a good question and I'm glad you asked.

The purpose of this website is to raise money to educate needy but gifted students in Blues, Jazz and Gospel music.

This website will also be used to raise money to aid and assist African charities.  We can ill afford to watch fellow human being suffer the basic necessities of life and expect to go to heaven at the end of our personal watch.  As you can plainly see we need your help!

My personal and brief Autobiography

On or around the early 60's I began performing in high school with my own rock and roll band called "the Swinging Downbeats".  After gigging in high school for two years, I performed with my brother's band, Johnny Harris and the Statesmen.  We played the entire West Coast including Las Vegas on several occasions for four exciting years.
I was drafted out of my brother's band and into the 52nd Army band for two years of service.  From the 52nd Army Band I completed three years and two summers at the Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachusetts.  While at Berklee I met and performed with the Tavares Brothers singing group.  After leaving Boston I owned and operated "Quinn's Afterhours" night club and bar in San Francisco California for two years.
When my club closed in San Francisco, I spent the next four years performing with a combination of bands in Riverside and securing a bachelor of science degree from the University of California, Riverside.  For the next six years, I performed several world tours with Tavares and led my own big band on numerous Blues and Jazz concerts on the College circuit in Southern California.
The next eight years I taught band and chorus at Fremont Middle School in Pomona California.  During this time I was able to attend the Master's Program at National University.  After Fremont, two years were spent working, teaching and performing with the Gospel Repertoire Workshop.
From the Gospel Repertoire Workshop I taught science and music for twelve years at San Andreas High School in the San Bernardino City Unified School District.  From the many successful experiences at San Andreas, I was able to realize my life long dreams of contributing to the lives of some very gifted young people.
I retired in 2005.  As you can see I have been blessed with many extraordinary opportunities to realize my goals and objectives.  My website is just a continuation of my service to God and to my fellow citizens.  You can help.  Ask questions and use this website to help us do even bigger and better things in the future.
As always, your brother-in-Christ, Quinn Harris
